This post is for the many that request we address this topic: I am a Christian but I am in love with a married person, what shall I do? I am not committing Adultery, they are. I am praying for a Godly Marriage.
Real Talk:
SO YOU FEEL THEY LOVE YOU! Our response: "Listen; you are a brilliant person who deserves nothing but the best that God has to offer, so why are you settling for someone else's leftovers, because as long as they are married you will always get another's leftovers; leftover time, leftover money, leftover sexual energy! You deserve to be the main course, not the measley scraps! If you want them to think better of you, think better of yourself. Please stop asking God to bless your mess.
Biblical Talk:
The bible has so much to say about the foundation and design of marriage. As Christians, we must acknowledge and take accountability for the wrongs we commit in life. A situation like this has so many angles to discuss, we will only tackle a few. First there is fornication (sex before marriage), then adultery on the behalf of the married party. No, you are committing the adultery but you are a part of the process and the word says stay away even from the perception of sin. We can also discuss the commandment "Thou shall NOT covet thy neighbor's wife." God intended each person to have their own spouse and the marriage to be a holy covenant between them. Yes we know no person is perfect but once we know better, we are expected to do better. Think about the seriousness of marriage as God intended, and re-evaluate your actions.
We lift in prayer any person or family, that is going through this situation on either side of the fence. It is very difficult and NO party involved is free from the destruction, devastation, and pain it causes. Father hear our prayers!
May this message be received with the love in which it was intended. We answer all types of questions on this forum, some are easier to discuss than others.
