A Goldwind, empresa participada pela China Three Gorges, concorrente à privatização da EDP, anunciou hoje que prevê instalar uma fábrica de turbinas eólicas em Portugal, num investimento superior a 500 milhões de euros.
Em comunicado, a Goldwind - um dos maiores produtores mundiais de turbinas eólicas e a segunda maior empresa do sector da China - adiantou que a fábrica avançará "até ao Verão de 2013" e que prevê começar os trabalhos de instalação da nova unidade já no início de 2012, "com a contratação de uma equipa local".
Segundo a empresa chinesa, a nova unidade "produzirá 800 turbinas eólicas por ano ocupando uma área de cerca de oito hectares e terá um forte impacto na criação de postos de trabalho especializados em Portugal", sendo que a nova fábrica "terá ainda um impacto positivo no sector da construção civil, estando prevista a entrega da empreitada da nova fábrica a empresas locais".
Os responsáveis da Goldwind indicam que a produção da unidade portuguesa "será essencialmente direccionada para o mercado de exportação".
